Library Lessens Late Fines to Reduce Food Insecurity

student grabbing book in library

Pasadena City College students with library late fees are invited to donate food items in exchange for their fees, enabling them to register for the following term, withdraw from a course, obtain their transcript, or graduate, while also assisting students who are food insecure and use the PCC Lancer Pantry. This example of a partnership between departments on campus is a great model and idea other institutions could consider implementing. The library's effort supports Pasadena City College's Lancer Pantry, which serves up to 100 students each day.
